There is something of special value in you. You may not have polished it. You may not even have discovered it. Unfortunately, many people, especially in this social media age, know others more than they know themselves. Those celebrities and influencers are brands selling their value proposition. You are a brand with a remarkable unique value proposition also. You must hone it, polish and position it strategically.
Certain people may not understand it when you tell them that you are a brand with a unique value proposition. They may begin to wonder if you are a company. Why? Many people still think brands can only be classified as organizations that provide services or sell products.
Your Unique Value Is Worth Paying For.
To sell is human is the name of a bestseller by Daniel Pink. We all have something to sell. You could have a unique idea, value or expertise that would help alleviate pain points for a specific audience.
According to Daniel Pink, in the above-mentioned book,
“Physicians sell patients on a remedy. Lawyers sell juries on a verdict. Teachers sell students on the value of paying attention in class. Entrepreneurs woo funders, writers sweet-talk producers, coaches cajole players.”
You must have persuaded or tried to influence people into buying something or even buying into an idea.
Have you tried to convince people that a book you have read is an absolute must-read for them? Have you tried to let others be convinced of why a particular candidate should be voted for? Have you tried to convince your boss for any approval? You are selling. Many times, not necessarily so that people make purchases. It may be just to persuade, influence or convince others to embrace your idea. That’s selling!
Your Value Is Special
You are a brand of a unique value proposition. There is something special about you. There is some value you could offer in ways different from how others do it. This awesome expertise should be sold to others. You could by giving your value for free. All the same, it is a good strategy for your target audience to be aware of the YOU brand. This will help attract those who can benefit from your unique expertise.

It will be a disservice to your immediate circle of influence or society at large if values you embody fail to benefit as many people as possible. Your unique value as a brand must be strategically positioned to serve as many people as possible.
Develop Your Unique Brand
To position yourself you must express yourself in authentic ways. This does not mean being who you are not. Some people see personal branding as someone presenting himself or herself for what they are not to achieve certain goals.
Contrary to such negative opinions on branding, authenticity and unique value proposition is the best branding strategy. Being true to yourself and building trust among your target audience enables you to offer the best experience.
Imagine someone you dated turned out to be a different person after marriage. That would be a terrible experience. Imagine a business partner turning out to be different from your impressions. That would be devastating. All due to deceitful positioning- inauthentic branding.
Today, start deliberately packaging yourself for maximum impact. Raising your star expertise is a necessary strategy towards becoming of great value to your target audience. The YOU brand is awesome, unique and of great value. The world needs you.
